Oriental Trading - $3.99 Shipping on Any Order

Many of our extended family and friends were amazingly generous to Rosie this past Christmas. I wanted to send a little something that she had made for them. I saw craft kits for these key chains at Oriental Trading. The price was very reasonable ($8, makes 12) but I just couldn't justify paying the shipping.

Then this came in an email today!

I'm hoping that the snow is almost over for us, so I decided that these key chains would be a little more timely (and fit in with the theme of my blog!).

If you need any:
* Craft or Hobby Supplies
* Teaching Supplies
* Toys or Novelties
* Holiday Decorations or Accessories
and want to take advantage of this shipping deal, use keycode WCX9050. Order by March 5th to use the $3.99 Ground Shipping.

Friday Follow - Welcome to Kelly's Lucky You

Friday Follow

Are you coming here from "Follow Friday"? Nice to meet you!

Why the name, “Kelly‘s Lucky You“? Well, since I've found blogs, I've made friends, learned much, won lots of prizes. I would never have called myself a “lucky” person before, but now, as I think of the changes in my life since I started reading blogs - I am lucky. Very lucky, very blessed. By blogging, I hope I can share some of that luck with readers and readers can share the very things that make me feel lucky - friendship, knowledge, and of course, free stuff, hehehe.

What do I like to blog about? Like many moms, I left the workforce to stay home with my daughter. One of the things I miss the most about working, is the interaction with my friends. The day-to-day exchange of simple things, from what happened on American Idol last night, to a great deal on handbags at the Coach outlet. Kelly's Lucky You only has the "slam-dunk" kind of deals - most of them ones that I've tried and can give you a personal recommendation.

Personal details? I’m married to a wonderful guy, Sean. We are opposites in a lot of ways and we have many discussions (not exactly arguments). Usually when we have a big decision to make, he starts at one end, I start at the other and we end up in the middle. Our lives have reached a balance because of this. The process is not always easy, but the result is good. One small example is that I am always late. Sean is always early. The two of us struggle every time we leave the house, but we end up…… on time.

We have a four year old daughter, Rosie. She is the absolute light and joy of our lives. Sean and I went years thinking that we would never have children…..then along came Rosie. She came to us through the blessing of adoption and I am thankful everyday, no - every minute, for her presence in our hearts and lives. At the same time, she’s a very normal kid, at the moment she is talking non-stop, hardly even remembering to take a breath. One of the benefits of adoption, you can often choose a boy or a girl. It’s times like these, or in moments of high-toddler drama, that Sean reminds me that I wanted a girl. *smile*

Last note? I love to write, well I use the term “write” loosely. I kind of talk in my head and type it. Please share this journey, share your thoughts, ideas, feelings with me. I very much look forward to reading them and I hope you look forward to reading my posts. I hope we both will learn a little from each other and laugh together.

Deal Alert - Disney PJ Pals $4.99 Shipped

These long-sleeve Disney Little Einstein pajamas are available for only $4.99 with free shipping. I ordered the "June and Annie" ones for Rosie a few months ago and they are excellent quality. The weight of the fabric is good for her - it's warm but not as warm as the fleece ones that I also bought her for winter. I think these would also be good for into the spring or longer if you sleep in a cool room.

You order them on ebay, but it is Official Disney - Sold and Shipped by Disney Store. I received mine quickly and with no problems at all.

The "June and Annie" are currently available in Sizes 2T to 5T and the "Leo and Quincy" in Sizes 2T to 4T.

Help? - New Vehicle Shopping - I'm Lost!

Our family is shopping for a new vehicle.

Well, Sean is shopping and I'm not letting him buy a new vehicle without my input!!! But, that's for another post on marriage!

I haven't paid any attention, at all, to vehicle choices.

My philosophy is that you can't want what you don't know about. I call it the "stay out of Best Buy" theory. I am very, very lost and confused.

Dear Readers, would you help me?

We are a family of 3 - Rosie is 4 and still in a car seat - but we often drive with my parents, so we need comfortable seating for at least 4 adults and one child.

We are pretty frugal. We look for value. We want a safe, comfortable ride. It doesn't have to be a luxury brand, but we don't want to go extreme economy either.

What are the benefits / drawbacks to an SUV versus a Minivan?

What options are can't-live-without for you?

I don't even know the questions to ask......any advice you can share?

Thanks in advance!

Free-bee Sample of Purex 3-in-1

I bought the Purex® Complete 3-in-1™ Laundry Sheets to use when we travel.

If you haven't seen it, it's similar to a dryer sheet but stiff. It has laundry soap, fabric softener and anti-static, all in the sheet. You just drop it in the washer, transfer it to the dryer with your clothes, and voila! Smart, huh?

When home, I put the package in the cabinet, to wait for the next trip. But hold on a sec! Wouldn't it be convenient to just have the stack of sheets in my laundry room instead of giant bottles? Wouldn't my laundry room stay cleaner without the unavoidable (I've really tried!) spills of detergent? You bet it would!

Rambling Alert! Am I the only one that has no clue how much detergent to use anymore? Somewhere when they made the switch to concentrated soaps, I lost my measuring ability. There are lines on the cap, but it never seems like enough, I'm confused when I do small, medium, large, or very large loads..... I know, not rocket science, but, let's just say, not having to measure appeals to me.

I'm very happy with the results of my current detergent (not Purex, 'nuf said). But, I'm willing to take a chance on Purex for the convenience.

How about you? Would you like to try a free sample?

Warning, there is a survey that's longer than the usual three questions. Just like this post has become longer than a Free-bee should be. Still, the survey's not too bad and hopefully you haven't fallen asleep reading this post.

When you get your free sample or if you've already used Purex Complete, let me know what you think, okay?
How would you grade it for: Convenience? Performance? Price?

Click here to print your own coupon.

Have you ever tried Picasa? It's a free photo-editing software from Google. I use it to make photo collages. Easy to use and many options available. Here's the 8 x 10 collage I plan to have printed at my Walgreen's on Thursday - for free - sweet!

Deal Alert - Photo Playing Cards for a Jaw-Dropping $2.99

"Total: $2.99 USD"

JAW DROP, I know!

This is the final price, incl free shipping.

I just ordered these adorable (well, I'm a little biased and think my Rosie is the cutest-ever *wink*) playing cards from ArtsCow.com. And you can too! Well, without Rosie's picture, of course, hehehe.

What a great gift idea for grandparents..... or fun to keep and use yourself.....

I've ordered from ArtsCow.com before (dog tags, men's ties) and have been completely satisfied with the quality of their products. The company is located in Hong Kong and my products were mailed to me straight from Hong Kong, customs info and all. Caveat: I have never ordered something that I needed on a time sensitive basis, and I can't offer experience with the timing of shipments.

If you want more than one set, it will cost a bit more. The info I received said, the initial set would be $2.99 and additional cards $6.99 each. I chose the traditional rectangle cards, but there are other shapes and options, as well.

Enjoy!

And it expires 2/28/2010, so don't hesitate!

What I Learned At DisneySMMoms That Changed My Life

What I learned at this conference inspired me to start a new blog. It's fitting that my first post should be about the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration.

Watch for more to come.....including giveaways and links. Right now, it's a blank canvas, but there's a brush and colors waiting to make it bloom.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I registered for this conference, but with Disney as a sponsor, how could I go wrong? Add the fact that Amy, Resourceful Mom, was one of the planners and I'm on board!

The Disney Social Media Moms Celebration exceeded every expectation I had and more!

*
Organized - Everything was on time and orderly. Staff (cast members) had to make last minute changes to deal with the unexpected, ie weather, and they did it with grace and efficiency. Kudos to Disney executives and cast members for amazing execution.

*
Useful - I learned - on many levels. People like Guy Kawasaki and Chris Brogan spoke about the ins and outs of social media. Kathy Ireland and Maxine Clark spoke of their personal goals, struggles, and dreams. Maryellen Hooper and Marissa Winokur were so much fun and reminded us how important it is to laugh! Congrats to Disney and the planners for an awesome lineup of speakers.

*Pampered - Wow, Disney makes you feel like a ... well, a princess! From the food to the entertainment, even the entertaining food (Robert Irvine of Dinner Impossible), my family and I were spoiled! Be kind to my child and you have my heart.

*Frugal - yup, who knew you could be frugal at Disney? Well, the conference fee was so reasonable as to be crazy! Then add all the goodies and I felt like a thief!

*New friends - I met such amazing fellow bloggers. DisneyWorld is huge but we seemed to run into each other and I felt so comfortable with everyone. Kindness and support were everywhere.

By now, you're saying, oh c'mon nothing is that good. You think I was hypnotized or injected with pixie dust? Well, of course, it wasn't perfect, but the cast members truly made you focus on the positive. For any slightly negative occurrence, there were multiple compensations that made you forget about any slight problem. Okay, I still remember that my hair dryer was slow. Only kidding Disney, you don't need to send me a free vacation and a new hair dryer in my room. Well, unless, you want to......

AND thank you to @leannej @momtalkradio @mombloggersclub @5minutesformom @resourcefulmom and Disney for organizing this event and allowing me to create memories of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

FTC regulations require that I disclose attendance at the Social Media Moms Celebration at Disney World. As part of the conference, I am receiving complementary items, special discounts, and other benefits so that I can experience the magic of Walt Disney World.
